Green is Great Juice

Call it whatever you want, but green juice is yummy! If someone would have told me that I would drink something green one day and like it, I would have gone completely Cajun on them … yet, lo and behold, green juice is in my belly.

My hubby and I were inspired by the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, and if you haven’t seen it, you should totally check it out. This guy goes on a juice fast and cures his ailments, etc. — it’s inspiring. It also taught me that I would never have that kind of will power, and I’m ok with it — sorry, I like food.

Anyhow, we’ve played around with several recipes, and through trial and error, we have found a nice balance for a drinkable green juice. When juicing, organic, organic, organic … did I say organic?!

Ingredients:

3 celery stalks

3 granny smith apples

3 cucumbers

6 leaves of kale

1 lemon

1 lime

Thumb size piece of ginger

Before drinking — this is KEY — add coconut water. I usually put about 3 tb if I had to guess. I don’t know what this does, but it makes all juices tolerable and “cuts” the grassy smell and taste.

MMMMMMMM! Pretend it's not the color of various gross things.

I always sip with a straw. I’m convinced it makes the juice taste better. ❤
